Filled with life wisdom, I learn new distinctions and deepen my grasp of familiar ones each time through.. The book is used not just because I like it, but because I use it as reference material for myself, for my children, for what I value.

I strongly encourage you to publish. If that's in 10-30ish individual books put up on Amazon, great. If it's through the traditional route, fine. (So long as it's heart doesn't get butchered.) Frankly I think you would make MUCH .more money through serial Amazon self-publication. I would be happy to personally refer you to the writer of the zombie series whom writes full-time based on his self-publishing financial success.)

I am CERTAIN there is a serious market for your work. This is (what I at least consider to be) a life's work. It begs to be made widely available. Yes, that means a rewrite. But not as much as you might think. Bring the herstory into current truth -- iPhones, texting, legal marriage for all, prop 8 fight, Obama and Clinton, etc. That's background and needs to be correct in order to make this fiction as close to perceived truth as possible, so that readers never have to suspend belief. And obviously if you serialize you need book-ending hooks so as to leave readers wanting more.

I currently have over 30 chapters and blog posts of yours open, as I search for more of your second book of GB, the few writings you did suggesting where the world might go. The GB world is deeply engaging. With all my heart I encourage you to bring it to everyone. Children and teenagers and young adults still inventing themselves -- people deserve to know this is a possible way of being, a possible way of living and of loving, a possible life which they and their families by choice can have in actual reality. This is your gift to the future.

Love and * hugs *,
JesseJesse Wendelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10933455966309012824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3576716365575919550.post-16394681448997247832016-09-01T16:19:21.365-05:002016-09-01T16:19:21.365-05:00Continued...

I want to lose myself in them. I have been and continue to be deeply appreciative for the lessons I've learned from this writing. For me especially, the lessons about Class have made an enormous difference in my thinking, my actions and daily behavior, and in what teachings I work on with others, especially including my children. My politics have also been deeply impacted by this book, in what I consider a good way.

Point 2 is all this (for me) lives independently of our relationship. I've pondered, reread, been influenced by, recommended to others, taken action based on, and much more, all without referencing you as the author. The GB world is as real and present to me as anything I've read. Or more accurately, the GB world is one of the world's which I return to, am drawn to, and love to lose myself inside of.

C) I assess GB as 1) superbly written, 2) great characters, 3) NOT overwritten, regardless of the assessment of others. For me the so-called over-writing (for example, all of the food and eating, recipes and gardening) draw me deeper into the world, build character, and -- I came to see this time through -- encourage me to make certain that my own life is lived as healthy as possible and that what we eat and our relationship to food and its preparation is absolutely core for a well-lived life. That has been there for me to learn for over a decade. But while I started to grasp it two years ago in my own life -- my kids had been hammering on me for a decade by then -- it was only this past weeks as I reread the book that the lesson sunk in both for the GB world as it lives for me, and in causing a deeper shift in my own relationship to food and creating family relationships. I have read the entire book at least ten times, probably closer to 15. I recommend it to people I love, to people who love reading, to anyone it seems to me might like it. And I do this now, and have done so without hesitating even after our lives turned in different directions.Jesse Wendelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10933455966309012824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3576716365575919550.post-59536347645950552012016-09-01T16:16:42.809-05:002016-09-01T16:16:42.809-05:00Hi Maggie,

The writing keeps me oriented correctly towards classism, racism, misogyny, and more.

An idea: over the past year I've been reading a serially published zombie novel, now with over 15 individual sections (books, actually.) They are self-published on Amazon, and have done amazingly well.

One of my long-time fears has been that GB, S & P would all be left to your artistic trustee to manage. I never did hear what happened with the section of GB we sent off to that editor whom you liked. And obviously your health hasn't been great. (I've not especially been following your posts -- primarily dealing with my own issues, and those of my family, for years now -- however with your health and finances I have no clue if a) you are in anyway positioned to publish any of your books, and b) if you still want to do so.

That said...Jesse Wendelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10933455966309012824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3576716365575919550.post-2895850469045863622016-03-04T15:59:38.035-06:002016-03-04T15:59:38.035-06:00Thanks for this incredible list.
