In case you wonder
Do I feel betrayed
badly used, left behind
The answer is
Often
On good days your memory
is like plum sauce
A mix of acid and fruit
which helps me digest
other, more nurturing
meals
The choice to have trusted you
was and is my own
I pull those covers to my chin
But what you did with my trust
is yours to forgive
