Maggie Jochild, aka Mary Margaret “Meg” Barnett, the most magnificent mind I have ever encountered, entered the next phase at dawn on January 6. She was conscious, free of pain, free of wires, tubes, and apparatus; and I held her in my arms as we smiled into one another’s eyes, suffused with joy at a thing done well. I swear we were bathed in a rosy glow.
I was her true love, and she mine.
